Angela Benoit is an associate in the litigation department of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman. When providers face government investigations or actions, Ms. Benoit helps develop responsive strategies and manage discovery in a way that minimizes expense and disruption. Handling a wide range of matters with particular experience handling e-discovery and a background representing clients in Medicare appeals and hearings before Administrative Law Judges, Ms. Benoit delivers insightful litigation representation and support.

She works closely with clients and productively with regulators and investigators to produce documents and conduct e-discovery in a focused and targeted manner. Her ability to keep the process moving forward efficiently while protecting her clients' interests has made her an integral part of the firm's litigation team.

With a practice that extends beyond her e-discovery work, Ms. Benoit provides counsel during internal investigations and represents home health care organizations, laboratories, physicians, and other health care providers in cases involving violations of the federal health care fraud statute, False Claims Act, and Anti-Kickback Law. Her experience also includes criminal defense, fraud & abuse compliance and defense, as well as other health care enforcement actions.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Benoit worked for a regional law firm where she represented clients in response to state and federal government investigations. Her experience also includes involvement in white-collar criminal cases and civil litigation. While in law school, she served as the managing editor for the Northeastern University Law Review and as a teaching assistant for first-year legal research and writing and criminal law. She also worked as a legal intern at Nixon Peabody, Fresenius Medical Care North America, Collora LLP (now Hogan Lovells), and the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.
