Taryn Reid is an associate in the litigation department and a member of the Managed Care, Fraud & Abuse, Stark, Anti-Kickback Counseling and Defense practice groups. Her practice focuses on the defense of healthcare facilities, healthcare compliance, false claims, insurance litigation, post-acute and long-term care, premises liability, and general tort litigation.
Prior to joining Hooper, Lundy & Bookman, Ms. Reid worked as an attorney at a California litigation firm that specializes in the health care industry. She also served as a law clerk at both the United States Department of Justice in the Constitutional and Specialized Torts Branch and the United States Department of Health and Human Services in the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General. While at the federal government, Ms. Reid gained invaluable experience litigating and processing claims under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Compensation Act, and in regulatory and compliance work regarding the Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act, Corporate Integrity Agreements, Self-Disclosure Protocols, and Exclusionary Appeals.
Ms. Reid received her law degree from UCLA School of Law (J.D., 2019), where she was a member of the Health Law Society and an Articles Editor for both the Disability Law Journal and the Pacific Basin Law Journal. She also received several awards for her trial advocacy and negotiation skills.
